Description

Medicine Buddha is an iconic figure in Mahayana Buddhist beliefs. Also known as “Bhaisajyaguru”, our gold gilded Medicine Buddha statue emanates with the compassion that serves as the spiritual cure for all physical and mental affliction. Our Medicine Buddha will be a spiritual aid and inspiration to all practitioners.

This gold gilded Medicine Buddha was carved using the centuries old secrets of the Nepali master craftsman. As a result, this statue contains the most elegant robe engravings featuring the eight Tibetan auspicious symbols. Additionally, please observe the gentle folds and the graceful elegance they are imbued with.

Gold Gilded Medicine Buddha Features:

This statue is expressing the classic mudras of Medicine Buddha. In his right hand, he gently holds the stem of a sacred myrobalan plant between his index finger and thumb. This sacred plant is a metaphor for the cure of all suffering. Additionally, the right hand also expresses the Varada “boon granting” mudra, signifying the Buddha gave the gift of medicine to sentient life.

Furthermore, Medicine Buddha has the back of his left hand gently resting on his lap expressing the meditation mudra. In the palm of his hand rests the offering bowl filled with the 3 nectars. These 3 precious nectars are the cure for the three poisons of desire, hatred and ignorance. Click here to learn more about Medicine Buddha.
