Our 21 Tara statues are hand crafted in Patan, Nepal using the lost wax method of sculpture. Although each Tara statue is done in strict accordance with tradition, it is unique because it is made by hand. Therefore, when you purchase our set of 21 Tara Statues you can rest assured that yours is the only one in existence made by that master artisan at that time.
Each individual Tara is used according to your personal practice. Indeed, the 21 Taras protect devotees from the eight and also the sixteen fears. You can use them according to your lifestyle and hourly or daily predisposition.
The 21 Tara Goddess Statues are based on the “Praises of the 21 Taras”. Furthermore, each Tara is a variation of one of the four colors – white, yellow, red and black. Each color corresponds to one of the four types of enlightened activity – pacification, increasing, overpowering and wrathful.
Our set of 21 Taras is of a complex nature that is unique to Tibetan Buddhism. Indeed, each Tara statue corresponds to one of the 21 praises of Tara. However, the traditions do not agree on which praise matches each specific Tara. Our complete set of 21 Tara Goddess Statues is based on the 21 forms of Tara described by the Suryagupta and Nyingma Terma traditions. Click here to learn more about the Tara Bodhisattva.
