Our Amitabha Buddha statue looks very serene while he sits in full lotus pose on a single lotus pedestal. Additionally, he holds the alms bowl of a monastic in the palm of his right hand. Inside the bowl the three nectars can be found which will eliminate ill will, greed and ignorance. His hands are depicting the Dhyana “meditation” mudra. The ushnisha topknot, third eye of wisdom and elongated ears are also notable attributes of his Buddha status.
For thousands of lifetimes Amitabha existed in samsara as the Bodhisattva Dharmakara. As a result, he obtained an infinite amount of merit and he has acquired his own pure land. Amitabha’s pure land is called Sukhavati. Additionally, he welcomes all of his devotees to join him there and they will receive nurturing and protection. As such, they will never fall back into the vicissitudes of samsara. They will also receive mentoring from Amitabha and his retinue of Bodhisattvas until they can achieve full enlightenment. Special Adornments for Your Amitabha Statue
Our Nepali master artisan created our beautiful Amitabha Buddha statue with the jewelry and crown of a Bodhisattva. At the request of the buyer, we would be happy to adorn the crown and jewels of the statue with turquoise or red stones. At no extra charge, we can embellish the statue with these special decorations before delivery.
The color turquoise is a special combination of blue and green. Indeed, blue signifies the purity of the Buddhas and green symbolizes their readiness to act. Additionally, devotees meditating on the color red can transform the poison of attachment into the wisdom of discernment. The color red is often worn by other deities to pay tribute to Amitabha Buddha. This Amitabha statue will wear the adornments very well and they will inspire all those who lay their eyes on your new statue.
